War grave, York Cemetery

The Genealogy office is currently closed to visitors. However, the volunteers are taking online enquiries and will be pleased to help you with your family research. Online appointments can be made should you wish to visit a grave.

The Cemetery Registers have been continuously maintained and provide a complete record of over 123,000 disposals which have been made in the graves in the cemetery grounds. For more information see the companion website info http://yorkcemeterygenealogy.co.uk maintained by a knowledgeable group of specialist volunteers, or email info@yorkcemeterygenealogy.org.uk

Help with your research

The Friends of York Cemetery offer an in-person service at the cemetery office each Friday (9.30am – 3.30pm) throughout the year for people researching family or local history at the cemetery or seeking a guide to a grave. No appointment is necessary.
