The Cemetery Registers have been continuously maintained since opening in 1837 and provide a complete record of over 123,000 interments which have been made in the cemetery grounds. The Genealogy team – part of The Friends of York Cemetery –  can offer a range of research services.

 In person enquiries: Fridays only from 9.30am – 3.30pm. Please call into the Hugh Murray Research Room (at the rear of the Gatehouse) for assistance with family or local history research or if you are or seeking assistance in locating a grave.  No appointment is necessary.
