All walks are on Sundays and start from the Gatehouse at 2.00pm unless otherwise stated.

There is a charge per head of £2.50 for adults (£1 for members of the Friends of York Cemetery), and £1 for children.

A look at the variety of Tombstones and their makers, led by David Poole.

Sunday, 11 May, 2pm - Spring Photography.
Bring your camera! Led by Paul Rhodes & Nancy Sydenham.

Sunday 25 May, 2pm - Gardens in the Cemetery.
A leisurely stroll round the Cemetery gardens, led by Clive Dawson.

Sunday 8 June, 2pm -- Butterfly Walk.
The first of our highly popular Butterfly Walks, led by Dr David Chesmore.

Sunday 15 June, 2pm -- Tall Trees and Wild Flowers.
Discover the wide variety of trees and wild plants growing in the Cemetery. Led by Judith Ward.

Wednesday, 25 June, 9pm (NOTE DAY & TIME) -- Moth & Insect Night.
Starting with "Buzzing!", a multimedia show for all the family, featuring award-winning local poet and photographer, Anneliese Emmans Dean. Followed by a walk led by Dr David Chesmore.

Sun 29th June, 7pm till 10pm.
Jazz Concert - Come hear the Mardi Gras Band that delighted everyone at last year's anniversary concert.
Tickets £7.50 each from the Cemetery Office. No discount for Friends.
Gates open for picnickers at 6pm.

Wednesday, 2 July, 9pm (NOTE DAY & TIME) - Bat Walk led by Ellie Jones.
A most popular event the last time. Numbers are limited; tickets £2.50 from the Cemetery Office. No discount for Friends. Bring a torch.

Saturday, 12 July, 10.30am & 1.00pm (NOTE DAY & TIME) - Living History Walk.
Year 10 drama pupils from Fulford School enact the lives of some Cemetery 'residents'. Not to be missed!

Wednesday, 16 July, 7pm (NOTE DAY & TIME) - Lord Mayors of York buried in the Cemetery. Led by David Poole.

Sunday, 3 August, 2pm -- Butterfly Walk 2, led by Dr David Chesmore.

Weds 13th August, 7.00pm
Lecture: "10 plants and a tree". Clive Dawson (Trustee, Friend, and volunteer at York Cemetery) will regale you with tales of some of the unusual plants and trees in the Cemetery.
Tickets £5.00 each from the Cemetery Office. No discount for Friends.

Evening photography, led by Paul Rhodes & Nancy Sydenham.

A study of Victorian monuments. Led by David Poole.

Sunday, 28 September, 2pm - The History of York Cemetery.
From 1837 - 2008, led by Alwyn Fletcher.

Sunday, 12 October, 2pm - Fungal Foray.
Discover the fungi in the Cemetery. Led by Findlay Cook.

Fri 19th December, 7.30pm.
Annual Christmas Carol Concert.
Admission free. Gates and doors open at 6.55pm.
Wrap up warm and bring your voice for singing!
Free mulled fruit punch and mince pies afterwards.
