Throughout the life of the Cemetery the Cemetery Registers have been continuously maintained and provide a complete record of over 123,000 disposals which have been made in the graves in the cemetery grounds.

Help with your research

The Friends of York Cemetery offer an in-person service at the cemetery office each Friday (9.30am - 4pm) throughout the year for people researching family or local history at the cemetery or seeking a guide to a grave. No appointment is necessary.
